You may have several paper clips in different sizes and colors lying around the house in your desk drawers, nooks or crannies. In addition to keeping your papers intact and organized, these paper clips can be used for different purposes.

It is thus time to put these paper clips to good use and make something out of them. Continue reading as we outline five creative ways in which you never thought you could use a paper clip

1- Use as bookmark

If you need an emergency bookmark, you do not need to rush to the market to get one or search around the house for accessories you can use to make one. Paper clips make the best and easiest DIY bookmark. All you need is a little piece of ribbon and a paper clip to make an instant bookmark. Using a custom paper clip with a cartoon character or some beads will make for a beautiful bookmark.

2- Remove hair from your brush

This one might come off as surprising, but you can use a paper clip to remove the hair from your brush. While it is not a very pleasant activity, a paper clip can help you easily and quickly remove the hair from your brush.

Just take a basic paper clip and open it out to untangle and remove the hair that has knotted up around the bristles and clogged the brush

3- Hang objects

Who says you can only use the paper clips to join papers only. You can also use them to hang lightweight items in your room or some other space, for instance, small pictures with or without frames or string lights for decorative purposes etc.

The paper clips will help you secure the object to be hung. You can then attach these clips to a string or a rope and use nails or hooks to secure the rope to the wall.

4- Use to tie food bags

In addition to being useful in the office, paper clips can prove to be very handy in the kitchen. If you have run out of food bag ties, you can easily use paper clips for the purpose. Simply unwind the clip and wind it around the twisted section of the food bag. Wrap it around tightly to ensure it is air-tight and secure.

5- Make a key ring

Paper clips make for excellent key rings. If you need a key chain and can't find any around the house, take a paper clip and hook one end of the paper clip through the hole in the key. You can use it independently or attach it to a key ring. It can easily be put on and removed, and you will not have to worry about losing your keys again.
